Is There An Eddie Murphy SNL Appearance Set For Saturday?

According to Page Six, there reportedly are talks going on that would see Eddie Murphy return to SNL on Saturday, joining Ben Stiller, his co-star in ‘Tower Heist’. The flick is directed by Brett Ratner, who will also be producing the 2012 Oscars, which Murphy is slated as the host. If the rumor is true, it would be the first time Murphy would appear on the show since leaving in 1984. Please say it’s so! I’d love to see Mr. Robinson come back to the neighborhood! With Murphy never returning to the show that catapulted the comedian to fame, rumors of strife between he and SNL creator Lorne Michaels have lingered for years. It reportedly stems from a bit that David Spade did while Murphy was at a standstill in his career, held up a photo of Eddie and said, ‘Look children, a falling star…quick, make a wish!’. Murphy was said to be none too happy about the jab and let Michaels know how he felt.
